Manuel
Elkin Patarroyo Murillo, was on November 3, 1946 in Ataco, department of Tolima,
in Colombia. He is 75 years old. He is
director of the Immune Institute of Colombia and he has his lab in Leticia, in
the middle of the jungle, 320 meters from the border with Brazil and Peru.
Currently,
he works on a vaccine with the 96.64% effectiveness to prevent malaria, on the
other hand the scientist has also been working on Colfavac 50, with 100% of
effectiveness, which have already been tested in monkeys. He thinks
he could work on a cancer vaccine, because 40% of cancers can be related to
bacteria, viruses, or parasites.
Patarroyo
believes that if you develop a method to prevent infection, you can also create
a method to prevent cancer.

The scientist is disappointed, despite having donated the first malaria
vaccine to OMS, they took the vaccine and put it in a drawer waiting for the
pharmaceutical multinationals to do something, but they did not come out with
anything. However, he will donate the new vaccine, but not the OMS.
